Personal coaching · with Dr. Todd

The “how” beneath your entire midlife health plan.

Coaching with Dr. Todd is not cheerleading and it’s not therapy — it’s a partnership that helps you clarify what matters, work within real constraints, and turn knowing what to do into actually doing it.

Is coaching for me?

Coaching is the “how” beneath your whole midlife health plan — helping with stress, boundaries, identity, meaning, relationships, and the practical work of changing patterns.

  • Stress, boundaries, and the mental load
  • Identity, meaning, clarity, and joy
  • Relationships, confidence, and the next right action

The connection

Why does coaching belong in a doctor’s office?

Here’s something most doctors won’t say out loud: I can write you the perfect prescription, and your symptoms could get better — but you may still not feel like you have your life back. I can hand you the science of hormone therapy, sleep, strength training, and nutrition. What I can’t hand you on a prescription pad is the energy to actually do it at 9 p.m. when you’ve just gotten the last teenager to bed. That gap is exactly where coaching lives. Treatment is the what; coaching is the how.

The reality

The midlife pile-on is real

If you feel like midlife handed you everyone’s needs at once, you’re not imagining it. You may be caring for aging parents while raising teenagers, at the peak of your career right as your body changes the rules, carrying the invisible, never-ending mental load of running a household. Feeling overwhelmed isn’t a personal failing — it’s a reasonable response to an unreasonable amount of load, often hitting when your biology has the least margin to spare.

The bridge

Why a prescription alone won’t move the needle

Every benefit of medicine depends on something the prescription can’t provide: the daily follow-through of a human being with a very full life. The strength training that protects your bones only works if you do it; the boundaries that lower your stress only matter if you can hold them. This is the knowing–doing gap, and willpower is a terrible bridge across it. Coaching gives you skills that outlast willpower.

What coaching is

A partnership that looks at where you are and where you want to go, and helps clear the obstacles between — even if you don’t yet know what you want next.

What it is not

Not me telling you what to do, and not therapy. It’s the deeper work beneath your decisions, emotions, and outcomes.

The result

Effective change that holds up under the weight of a busy life — boundaries, clarity, and reconnection with yourself.

Common questions

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Coaching is not therapy — an important, separate part of health and well-being — and it’s not cheerleading. It looks at where you are and where you want to go, and helps clear the obstacles between.

How is coaching connected to my medical care?

Dr. Todd is both physician and coach, so she can treat the biology and support the human living inside it — optimizing hormones, sleep, and physical health, then doing the deeper work of boundaries, mental load, and reconnecting with yourself.

What is Wayfinder coaching?

Dr. Todd is certified through Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training, a globally recognized program focused on helping you create a life of meaning, find clarity, and experience joy, with practices and action plans you can use.

What if I don’t even know what I want next?

That’s normal and part of feeling overwhelmed. Learning to sense and trust what’s right — and wrong — for you is part of the coaching process.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes — coaching sessions are available virtually for clients in Virginia and Washington, D.C., alongside the Great Falls, VA office.
